Description of what happened:
Callers were leaving store on October 18th, 2012 with baby in stroller pushed by victim’s Grandmother, She was pushing stroller down the first of two steps coming from store when the car seat adapter came out of stroller and baby fell out of stroller, down the second step and onto the concrete. Father/caller states that baby was unconscious and unresponsive for a short period of time that felt like a very long period of time which makes it difficult to measure. Ambulance was called, baby was checked by EMT’s and taken to New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center Emergency where he remained until 10/19/2012 AM. [REDACTED] ordered CT Scans, checked baby’s reflexes, provided parents with instructions to watch for changes in behavior, lethargy etc. Baby is normal colicky but since accident baby has been sleeping more, is quiet and less responsive. Callers are asking that this car seat adapter be investigated, inspected and recalled before a child is more seriously injured or worse.
